High Hopes Clubhouse

Several staff and members participated in the Mid Maine Chamber of Commerce's Business to Business Showcase. This event was an excellent opportunity for our Clubhouse to connect to area businesses and promote our Clubhouse. We would like to thank the Chamber for the opportunity to share our program.

 High Hopes and Thomas College

High Hopes Clubhouse is very excited that a Thomas College Marketing Class has agreed to take High Hopes Clubhouse on as their project and develop a marketing plan for the Clubhouse. This was suggested by Advisory Board member, Jim Peacock who set the wheels in motion.  Anita Anderson, Peter Wilson, and Margaret King along with Lisa Soucie did a presentation to the class on the Clubhouse Model. High Hopes Clubhouse is a very different type of program or business than the class usually takes on as their project, but with some modifications to a marketing strategy the class voted overwhelmingly to accept High Hopes Clubhouse as their project. The Marketing Class was given a formal tour and Clubhouse orientation and had a chance to meet with our members, and staff. They had some great ideas on how to assist the Clubhouse in marketing ourselves to employers and to the general community. We will be working on a logo, updated brochures, business cards, a tag line, facebook, and community relations. We are very thankful to have this great opportunity!

Community Presentations:

As always High Hopes Clubhouse is eager to share our Clubhouse by doing presentations and tours whenever asked. When doing presentations out in the community not only do both members and staff present but many members get the chance to participate by creating the video’s and power point shows, writing and printing information packets and giving feedback to others practicing public speaking.

This summer the entire Clubhouse community attended the Psychosocial Response to Aggressive Behavior training.

In October we also had members and staff renew their CPR certification.

Several members and staff have recently presented on the Clubhouse model for:  KVCC, Cornerstone Behavioral Health, and KBH School Based Services program.

A formal Clubhouse tour and presentation was held for the Maine State Rehabilitation Council. We were pleased to have council members, Allison Trussel and Drew Bolduc come to tour the Clubhouse.
